FAQ

GTM engineering, answered.

What is GTM engineering?

GTM engineering is the practice of building the technical systems a revenue team runs on: lead capture, enrichment, scoring, routing, outbound, CRM automation, forecasting and reporting. A GTM engineer connects these tools with APIs, automation and AI so data moves between them without manual work.

What is the difference between GTM engineering and RevOps?

RevOps owns the process, data and reporting behind revenue: stages, definitions, forecasts and dashboards. GTM engineering builds the automation and integrations that make those processes run. Most companies need both, which is why Pilot Revenue offers them together.

What does Pilot Revenue build?

Four connected systems that move from capturing demand to measuring revenue:

  1. Inbound Qualification & Routing Engine: captures leads, enriches account data, evaluates ICP fit, routes prospects to the correct sales owner and keeps CRM data synchronized.
  2. Outbound Prospecting & Signal Engine: discovers and enriches target accounts, evaluates ICP fit and buying signals, identifies the buying committee and prioritizes accounts for outbound.
  3. AI Deal Intelligence Agent: analyzes sales conversations and CRM context to identify deal risks and recommend next-best actions.
  4. Revenue Intelligence & Forecasting: combines pipeline quality, attribution, forecasting, CAC, LTV and GTM performance metrics into one decision layer.

Who does Pilot Revenue work with?

SaaS companies whose sales and marketing tools don't work together: leads in one system, prospecting in another, incomplete CRM data and forecasts built in spreadsheets.

Which tools do you work with?

We work across these categories:

  • CRM & Sales: Salesforce, HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Pipedrive
  • Prospecting & Data: Apollo, Clay, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo
  • Marketing & Paid Media: Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads
  • Automation & Integration: n8n, Zapier, Make, REST APIs, Webhooks
  • Conversation & Sales Intelligence: Gong, Sales call transcripts, CRM activity, Email activity
  • AI & LLMs: OpenAI, Claude, Gemini
  • Data, Analytics & BI: SQL, Google Sheets, Looker Studio, BigQuery, Snowflake
  • Communication & Productivity: Gmail, Slack, Google Workspace

See how they connect on our Tech Stack page.

Do we have to replace our current tools?

No. We build the workflows, integrations and data flows between the tools you already use. There is no rip-and-replace.

How does an engagement work?

Four stages.

  1. Audit: map the current GTM process, technology, data and reporting.
  2. Architect: design how data should move between tools and teams.
  3. Build: implement integrations, automations, dashboards and AI agents.
  4. Optimize: monitor, remove bottlenecks and improve.

What is a GTM Audit?

A review of your current revenue process that identifies bottlenecks and shows where better systems, automation, AI and reporting can improve performance. It is the first step of every engagement.

Should we hire a GTM engineer or work with a firm?

A full-time hire fits when you have continuous build work and someone to manage it. A firm fits when you need systems designed and built now, want coverage across several tools, or are not ready to add headcount.

Start with a GTM Audit.
